The 2010 Annual Meeting was primarily organized to mark the one-year milestone for incorporating the association as an independent nonprofit organization. It was an opportunity for all members, families, and friends to celebrate the holiday season together.
A total of 42 people attend the event. Key invited guests include TAFNC President Dr. Hwalin Lee, TAFNC VP Mr. Charles Chung, former Taiwan legislator Mrs. Sandy Yen, Dr. Chris Jochim from the San Jose State University, DPP-SV Chair Dr. Kuor-Hsin Chang, STANC President Mrs. Julie Lim, STANC President-elect Ms. Terry Lee, SEBTA President Mr. Danny Chen, TAI President Mr. Charles Lee, SVTAA VP Mr. Shen-Yang Kao,second generation Taiwanese American leader Dr. Hochie Tsai, and Overseas Taiwanese Representative Mr. David Weng, etc. President Dr. Pam Tsai reiterates the mission of the organization and encourages everyone's active participation and support. She also welcomes suggestions on program activities in promoting cultural, educational, and technological exchanges between the cities of San Jose and Tainan. See 2010 Annual Event Photos

新大台南市的蕭瑞巧牧師演講: 如何建造綠色鄉村
Rural Regeneration at Linzihnei, Tainan
The seminar was presented by Rev. Jui-Chiao Hsiao all the way from Taiwan. Rev. Hsiao spearheaded a very successful project at Linzihnei community 「林子內社區」 in greater Tainan. She shared her first-hand experience with us on how the project was initiated and progressed as well as how community members were inspired to get personally involved in the project with great enthusiasm and high hopes. The project revitalizes a depressed, seemed hopeless, and rundown area into a vibrant green village. It is indeed a very touching live story for all of us to learn and appreciate. 本協會理事林典謨先生特邀新大台南市白河地區的蕭瑞巧牧師,來分享她如何在過去15年內將林子內由一個灰灰暗暗沒有朝氣和希望的地區, 改造成一個充滿活力, 歡笑,及音樂的綠色鄉村。當天近100人前來北加州台灣會館聆聽蕭牧師講她非常感人的經歷。感謝姊妹市協會理事及會員的分工合作, 加上鄉親們熱誠的愛顧贊助, 大家也有機會在演講結束後,一起享受簡便卻溫心的午餐。
蕭牧師省思林子內社區再生的經歷, 做了以下的結論:農村再生不能只有硬體建設,必需適當使用「加」與「減」的哲學。「減」的方面要解決淹水問題, 減少災害, 減輕髒亂, 拆除違章, 及減碳 (減少混泥土) 。另外, 需加倍注入 “愛”, 要愛己, 愛人, 愛環境, 和愛神。農村再生是生命的更新, 它的成功需要走出個人的「得」與「失」, 從「心」做起, 讓土地能活化與再生。
